About
Built inside care, not sold into it.
KLYK Care did not start as a pitch deck. It started as a pile of spreadsheets in a working UK care group, and a decision to replace them properly.
Where it comes from
First it ran a care group. Then it became a product.
The group runs fifteen homes, and like most groups it ran them on spreadsheets: medication audit workbooks, a controlled drugs audit, an environmental audit, an incident analysis, a weights log, occupancy sheets, a resident register held together by formulas nobody dared touch. All of it worked, roughly. All of it depended on someone remembering to fill it in, email it round and read it.
KLYK Care began as the fix: take the workbooks the homes already trusted, turn each one into proper software, and run it beside the spreadsheet until everyone agreed the software was better. The five monthly compliance audits in the platform today are those workbooks, question for question. So are the incident analysis, the weights log and the staff compliance checks.
That origin shapes everything. Features exist because a manager needed them, not because a demo needed them. And the platform is offered to other groups the same way it was built: plainly described, and shown working before anyone commits.
How it gets built
One workbook at a time
-
First
Start from the real thing
Every module begins with a document homes already use: the audit workbook, the register, the tracker. Real columns, real questions, real habits. Never a blank-sheet redesign.
-
Then
Run both side by side
The software runs alongside the spreadsheet until the people doing the work agree it is better. They are the judges, and they are not easily pleased.
-
Only then
Retire the spreadsheet
Each module has to earn its place by making the month genuinely lighter, home by home. The What's new page inside the product records each one as it lands.
The KLYK family
If the wordmark looks familiar
KLYK Care is the care platform in the KLYK family, alongside KLYK Digital, which builds websites, cloud and IT for growing businesses. Same design language, same plain-spoken approach, same allergy to jargon.
The mark works the same way across the family: KLYK, a coloured dot, a quiet product name. Digital's dot is blue. Ours is green, and here it does a second job: green is also the colour of a question met.
- KLYK Care: care home management, this site
- KLYK Digital: websites, Microsoft 365 and cloud IT
- One family, one standard: plain words, real product
Where it stands
Straight answers about a young product
KLYK Care is early and moving quickly. Everything the features page describes is live, the ledger there says when each part shipped, and demos run on the real platform, never on mock-ups.
Next on the bench, built the same way from the spreadsheets they will replace: a DoLS tracker with expiry countdowns, a weekly KPI tracker with RAG thresholds, and the staffing suite (rota, timesheets, holiday). Email reminders and password resets by email are waiting on an email service. None of that is on the features page, because none of it is finished.
If you need something the platform does not do yet, ask. You will get a straight answer, not a roadmap slide.
Talk to the person who builds it.
When you book a demo or email a question, the reply comes from the person who writes the software, not a ticket queue.
Or email jak@klyk.uk and ask anything.
